Dr David Bodie BDS,
Practice Principal, graduated from the University of Dundee (Scotland) in 1987 and practiced dentistry in the UK until 1998 when he realized his dream of emigrating to Australia. He has practiced in Hervey Bay ever since.
To keep abreast of the never ending advances in dental procedures & technology, David keenly attends many seminars & postgraduate courses, endeavoring to enhance his already broad knowledge of patient treatments & care. David is also a familiar face in the local hospitals, where he frequently works in theatre, completing dental work under general anaesthesia.
David is currently completing a 2 year mini residency course in Orthodontics in the hope that he can provide a service to local families.
David and his wife Jane have one child, Benjamin. Together, they enjoy golf, skiing and spending time at home with all their pets .
David is now doing family orthodontic & Invisalign.
Dr Nicholas White B.Dent (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) B.Sc
graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004. Nick, originally from Narrabri in New South Wales, moved north to Queensland to work for two years in the Fraser Coast Health Service in both Maryborough and Hervey Bay. In 2007 he traveled to New Zealand & to the United Kingdom where he worked in a specialist oral & maxillofacial surgery unit.
In Nick’s spare time, he enjoys travel, wakeboarding, tennis & singing.
Nick & his wife Emilie have recently had an addition to their family with the birth of Lexi a beautiful little girl, who has enhanced their love of life.
Dr Gytis Simkus BDS
“Grandpa”, graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1970 and after working in Adelaide and London started his own general dental practice in Canberra in 1973. By 1999, when he left, it was the second largest private practice in Canberra but the warmer weather beckoned and so he and his wife Nijole moved to their Graham’s Creek property, near Maryborough. He has worked in Bundaberg and Maryborough since arriving in the region both in government service and privately.
Gytis is interested in all facets of general dentistry & maintains this interest by attending postgraduate courses to remain abreast of current developments. His interests outside of dentistry are too numerous to mention but he is happiest fattening steers on his property.
Dr Mike Charles BDSc
graduated from the University of Queensland (Brisbane) in 1982 and practiced in Cairns & Gympie before moving to Hervey Bay in 1986. He has worked in public sector dentistry in Hervey Bay for over 20 years in a number of roles including 17 years as the Director of Oral Health for the Wide-Bay Burnett.
Mike regularly attends continuing education courses ensuring he stays current with all the changes in modern dentistry & how they can benefit his patients. Outside of dentistry, Mike & his wife, Lou, have their work cut out keeping up with the sporting & academic pursuits of their four children.
When he can find time, Mike tries to be beat David at golf (usually unsuccessfully) & he & Lou like to travel Australia.
Dr Gary Scheepers BCh.D
graduated in 1990 from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. After almost 20 years in private practice in the UK and South Africa, Gary & his family moved to Australia 2 years ago to experience the lifestyle that Australia is famous for.
Gary has a post graduation qualification in endodontics (Root Canal Therapy) & likes to keep up to date with all aspects of dentistry by attending numerous post graduate courses. In his spare time, Gary is kept busy by his 3 children who enjoy camping & fishing together.
Ms Ann Triggs RDH (Dental Hygienist)
graduated from Adelaide in 1995. She then moved back to Queensland to practice.
For the first 8 years she spent time traveling and working from Northern New South Wales to Cairns and then back. Ann settled in Hervey Bay in 2003 where she enjoys fishing, four wheel driving and camping.
Receptionists & Dental Assistants
Completing the team are Jane (Practice Manager) Donna (Senior Receptionist), Amber, (Senior Dental Assistant) Dee, Kylie, Karen, Stacey, Tracy, Zoë, Lesley, Liz, Annaleisa, Naomi & Kimberley.
All have extensive experience within the dental field and therefore appreciate that for some patients, the thought of dental treatment can be quite traumatic.
